For my own part I’d try, “Mazel tov!” but I’ve been confused about that one ever since I read The Joys of Yiddish a thousand years ago… Could be it’s appropriate for both the son and the father, or for one but not the other… Whichever one, if not both, that’s to whom I mean it. If neither, then I’ll just rest on Kudos!
