O’Neil calls it “terrifying.” She wonders what a handwriting expert would make of it. Hector Becerra, editor-writer at the Times, provides a possible clue:

My guess is that a true handwriting expert would reach the very same conclusions about what the signature signifies that any reasonable and competent adult would draw from the letter that it accompanies.
